Sarah Cordell – Conservation & Population Management Officer

I acknowledge the Cammeraigal people of the Eora nation where I work, the Gadigal people where I live as well as the Wurundjeri, Wiradjuri and Gubbi Gubbi people of the lands I have lived on and loved throughout my life. I pay my respect to the traditional custodians of these lands, to their Elders past and present and to their connections with the land, sea and community.

Sarah Cordell joined the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) in July 2019 as ASMP Support Officer. She has had a lifelong interest in conservation and was fortunate to enter the zoo profession as a keeper at Australia Zoo in 2014. After experiencing ex-situ conservation, she spent a year in Southern Africa learning about and experiencing in-situ programs.

Sarah is excited to learn more about the processes behind keeping the species we work with viable into the future. She assists with delivering species management services to member organisations, reviewing annual reports and assessing data quality errors in studbooks.
