Cameron commenced his career as a scientist in animal health and agriculture and then held a number of senior marketing roles in the Ag/Vet, Personal Care and the Human Healthcare sectors.
In 2000, Cameron joined the Taronga Conservation Society Australia as the General Manager for Marketing, Communications and Education, and then moved to General Manager Life Sciences operations. In 2009, Cameron became CEO and has led the transformation of the zoos into the Taronga Conservation Society. This includes a number of significant capital works programs, such as development of the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning and development of a globally recognised wildlife conservation organisation with projects across Oceania, Asia and Africa.
Cameron is a Board Director of the International Rhino Foundation, and chair of the Regional Elephant Steering Committee. Cameron is also past Chairman of Ecotourism Australia and member of the Advisory Board for the Sydney Institute of Technical and Further Education.
Cameron studied a Bachelor of Science (Hons), Master of Commerce and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors program. He was elected as ZAA President in December 2018.
