Maigan joined the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) in April 2018. In her role, she is responsible for the communications strategy and associated initiatives to support the ZAA strategy and membership. She holds a role as ZAA Representative on the Communications Specialist Advisory Group in addition to roles on the ZAA Sustainable Palm Oil Taskforce, NZ Kea Conservation Advocacy working group and the Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife conservation behaviour change project.
With a varied background in communications and marketing across not-for-profit organisations, commercial businesses and research institutions, it was her keen interest in wildlife conservation, environmental sustainability and animal welfare that brought her to ZAA.
Maigan holds a Bachelor of Communication from the University of Newcastle and is currently studying a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the Australian Graduate School of Management, UNSW. In her spare time she loves to travel, learn languages, spot wildlife and take her dogs to the park.
