Our mission is "to bring people together to build a future for wildlife" and we do this by providing exceptional care for wildlife, inspiring our community, conserving wildlife in wild places, and building a sustainable organisation.

This is al full-time position on the carnivore section at Auckland Zoo including working  weekends and public holidays.

This position would suit a candidate that can demonstrate potential for working dangerous carnivores in the future. Some previous exotic animal management experience, preferably with carnivores, is preferred.


He kōrero mōu: About you

You will work as part of the team responsible for the daily husbandry and management of the zoo's carnivore collection providing best practice husbandry through the demonstration of a sound understanding of the five domains of animal welfare and their relevance in a modern zoo.

Good team fit will be essential, and the successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to positively contribute to a good team environment.

Strong organisational skills, with a proactive approach to your own learning and development, along with a solutions-focused approach to problem solving is a must.

To be considered for this role candidates should hold a Certificate in Captive Wildlife Management and/or relevant degree or experience and have a current full New Zealand driver license. In addition to this a high level of energy and physical fitness will enable you to meet the daily challenges of this role.

The salary range for this role is broad and will depend on your skillset, qualifications and /or experience $50,112.00k- $64,901.00k
