We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our passionate and professional team leading the continued development and management of our Queensland native animal collection based at David Fleay Wildlife Park. The position works closely with the Ranger in Charge, Visitor Services and Operations Team Leaders and Gateway Visitor Centre management unit.  

The role includes line management of a small dedicated staffing team responsible for day to day husbandry, dietary and conditioning requirements, development and implementation of procedures and practices, supporting the planning, installation and maintenance of exhibits, development and implementation of collection plans, record keeping, collection census and supports the delivery of education programs through innovative learning and transformative visitor experiences.

David Fleay Wildlife Park is one of two Gateway Visitor Centres, managed by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships. Nestled in secluded bushland in the heart of Queensland’s Gold Coast, the 24 hectare Wildlife Park is a long-established visitor attraction and education facility providing visitors with the opportunity to view and learn about native wildlife. Dedicated to the legacy of Dr David Fleay, our passionate rangers and volunteers provide wildlife experiences in a friendly and authentic setting. The Park incorporates an information centre, wildlife exhibits and a relaxing café.

The position works five days on and two days off and includes regular rostered weekend and public holiday work. It is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold an unrestricted manual drivers licence and Working with Children Blue Card.
