Hunter Valley Wildlife Park is a privately-owned Wildlife Park which is located just two hours from Sydney in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales. We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced zookeeper to join our hard-working Animal Care team. The position require flexibility as we are a small park, keepers may work across multiple sections.
Hunter Valley Wildlife Park is home to a large collection of both native and exotic animals including Koalas, Tasmanian Devil, Lions, Giraffe, Binturong, Meerkats, Capybara, and a unique bird collection.
Successful candidates should have a positive work attitude, excellent communication and presentation skills, a passion for enrichment, experience in Animal Care industry, be hardworking with the ability to work as part of a team while carrying out the highest level of Animal Husbandry.
Criteria:

Experience within the animal care industry

Ability to be flexible and work within a small team

Animal husbandry knowledge
-
Experience in animal food preparation; or willingness to learn.

Knowledge and experience working with a range of taxa
-
Cert 3 in captive animal management or equivalent
-
Great work ethic
-
Excellent customer service and presentation skills

Basic maintenance skills

Problem solving skills
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Be an Australian resident; or have a permit to work within Australia
The position may require the successful applicant to work weekends and public holidays with days off during the week.
