Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF)

The ZAA Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF) is the public fund of the Zoo and Aquarium Association. The combined effect of zoos and aquariums can have an increased impact on safeguarding wildlife and their habitats and the WCF is committed to enabling this.

The WCF is a registered deductible gift recipient (DGR), in addition to being registered under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The Wildlife Conservation Committee (WCC) oversees the management of the WCF. Funds raised through the WCF go towards their allocated conservation activities in their entirety. ZAA does not retain WCF funds for administrative costs or staff wages, these expenses are covered by other income streams such as membership fees.

ZAA raised funds via the WCF for our collaborative zoo and aquarium response to assist wildlife impacted by the drought and bushfires in Australia. To learn more visit our ZAA drought and bushfire response page.
