Home to nine Tigers, Dreamworld through the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation is one the largest zoological contributors to tiger conservation worldwide, raising funds through tiger experiences and donations to save wild tigers.

Dreamworld’s iconic Tiger Island enables guests to see more and learn more about these magnificent creatures, as well as get closer than ever before, encouraging empathy and educating visitors about the plight of tigers in the wild.

To further enhance our dedicated Team, we are excited to offer this rare and challenging opportunity for a suitably experienced wildlife professional to work with our tigers.
The successful applicant will undertake training which includes a graduated integration to the cats in a protected contact environment. Duties will include a range of general husbandry duties such as feeding and preparing diets, animal enrichment, cleaning enclosures, maintaining the Tiger Island facilities and ensuring display areas are well maintained and presentable. Guest interaction sessions and internal presentations with the tigers are also an integral part of this role to provide educational information about the cats and global conservation of the species. This role will also additionally support our Wildlife team by providing husbandry duties for our native animal collection.

To be considered, applicants must have:
• A solid background of industry experience working with native, exotic or non-domestic animals, ideally with tertiary qualifications in zoological sciences;
• Extensive animal husbandry experience
• A friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently and professionally with guests
• Commitment to teamwork, safety, and animal welfare
• A high level of physical dexterity with the ability to safely perform physically demanding work tasks
• Be vaccinated against Q-Fever
• A current driver’s licence
• Background in animal training and behavioural enrichment is desirable

Flexibility with working hours is essential and weekend work will be involved.
