Role Highlights:
As an Wildlife Keeper Assistant Team Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and conservation of Australia's unique wildlife. Your wealth of experience in animal husbandry and your leadership skills will be instrumental in guiding our team towards achieving our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert care and husbandry for a diverse range of Australian animals, including Tasmanian Devils, Lumholtz’s Tree-Kangaroo, Southern Cassowary, Estuarine Crocodiles, and more.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership by guiding and supporting the Wildlife Keeper team in daily tasks and assignments.
  • Collaborate closely with the Wildlife Keeper Team Leader to maintain high standards of professionalism, animal care and positive work culture.
  • Engage with guests through informative presentations and educational interactions, fostering awareness and respect for our native fauna.
  • Uphold Rainforestation's commitment to excellent customer service, ensuring memorable and educational wildlife encounters for our guests.
  • Actively contribute to the conservation efforts of Australia's native wildlife through hands-on care and advocacy.

 

The Ideal Trailblazer:
To excel in this role, you should embody the following qualities and qualifications:

  • Proven experience within the zoological industry with a minimum of 2 years of paid experience as a Wildlife Keeper in the animal human care industry, showcasing expertise in Australian wildlife.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards common goals.
  • A manual driver's license is preferred.
  • Profound knowledge of local flora, which would be highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with guests and team members effectively.
  • Flexibility to work on a 7-day roster, ensuring continuous care for our animals.
