The opportunity:
You will assist with presentation standards of the Penguin Encounter exhibit and undertake animal husbandry and exhibit maintenance tasks for the Antarctic penguins to maintain excellent health.
Your day to day:
• Assist with presentation standards of Penguin Encounter exhibit including snow blows, ice cleaning and removal
• Develop an understanding of animal training and conditioning techniques and behavioral enrichment to be able to maintain appropriate behavioral management of penguins.
• Perform relevant education talks and interactive tours to provide an educational experience to guests and students.
What you’ll bring:
• Previous experience with preventative health, behavioral management, enrichment and husbandry of birds
• Bachelor of Science degree or Certificate III in Captive Animal
Management is required
• Able to work in cool environments ranging from -1.0C to +10.0C
• A level of fitness required to complete all tasks in assigned area
• Available to work on any day including weekends
