Shoalhaven Zoo is set in amongst the most spectacular natural rock formations and bushland, all on the banks of the beautiful Shoalhaven River.
It is a privately owned Zoo that has been operating for over 50 years, with the current owners here for 20 years.
The Position
We are currently seeking a full time Experienced Keeper to join our team, working 8 hours days 5 days per week. As a business open 7 days a week, the position will include weekend, public holiday and school holiday work.
The position will involve working with the zoo’s entire animal collection, including birds, mammals, reptiles, primates and carnivores.
Duties include
• Daily husbandry of animals
• Pesentations and conducting private experiences
• General exhibit maintenance (raking, mulching, hosing, minor repairs etc.)
Essential Criteria
• Minimum 2 years paid full time keeping experience
• Basic animal record keeping skills
• Working with Children Check
• Manual Drivers license
• National Police Check
Desirable Criteria
• Cert III in captive animal management or equivalent
• Firearms License (for emergency/escape purposes)
• First Aid Certificate

Have attitude of animals come first. Prioritize providing the animals with the highest level of care with the endeavor to define and reach practical outcomes for the animals to achieve high level welfare state.
