Our new Accreditation Desktop Assessment Tool is underway (DAT 2.0)

The ZAA Accreditation Desktop Assessment Tool is the primary mechanism for members to demonstrate their systems, policies and processes, as evidence for compliance and capacity to meet ZAA’s Accreditation requirements every day.

Following the Desktop Assessment Tool review in 2024-2025 several gaps were identified, and in response, an enhancement project has been underway. Consultation has been wide and varied to ensure the upgrade is fit for purpose, and as good as it can be.

The proposed changes aim to:

  • Strengthen the assessment of core accreditation objectives

  • Increase the clarity of required evidence; and

  • Support members to go beyond compliance towards best practice.

The updated tool is currently in its pilot stage with further consultation needed before implementation. Thank you to members who have volunteered to pilot DAT 2.0 throughout 2026, and to members who have attended recent member roadshow presentations to learn first-hand about the changes. Further training and demonstrations will also be available for members at the annual ZAA Conference in August.

DAT 2.0 will be released for ZAA’s next accreditation cycle, starting in 2027.
